At Mid-Ohio Energy, we take great pride in keeping your lights on around the clock. For years, your cooperative has been an industry leader for electric service reliability. In 2024, our power availability rate was 99%, with the average total outage time per member being a mere 86 minutes for the entire year!
That's exactly why we take a proactive approach to maintaining our electric system, trimming trees in rights-of-way, and having emergency plans and backups in place.
This page provides a look at the planned scope of our work for this spring/summer. When you see our crews out, please know that we're working for you!
Operations Update — 2025 Work Plans
Here’s an overview of where you’ll see crews working this spring and summer as part of our ongoing plans to improve our service to you.
Line crews
Kenton crews will be working on County Road 90 (W of CR 135) and along SR 309 (W of Kenton) as well as various line upgrade projects throughout the district.
Marion district crews will be working along Prospect-Upper Sandusky Rd. in the Green Camp area.
Contracted crews will be rebuilding primary overhead lines in the Sonnanstine subdivision north of Marion.
Other projects
We will be working in the Wildcreek, Lynn, Brownstown, and Meeker substations to upgrade equipment to provide better communication and reliability.
System pole inspections will begin mid-summer in the Rengert substation (SE of Marion / Cardington) and North Kenton substation areas.
Right-of-way Management
Oberlander's Tree Services trimming crews are contracted to perform right-of-way management for Mid-Ohio Energy. They will be working around the Brownstown substation (areas S of Upper Sandusky, around Marseilles / Kirby). They have completed work around the Ridgedale and Meeker substation areas. In the future, they will move to the area north of Kenton and around Ada throughout this summer.
