A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our generous members and the public who dropped of donations to support the Blue Star Mothers' annual Christmas Care Package collection.

All items received will be donated to the Blue Star Mothers of Hardin County's Christmas Care package collection. 

While the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the Blue Star Mothers of Hardin County to alter their processes for sending their annual Christmas care packages, the group remains committed to brightening the holiday season for overseas troops.

The Blue Star Mothers are currently accepting donations of personal care items, snacks, and other small comfort items. The group then packs and mails these items to troops stationed in areas where it is otherwise hard to obtain such items. To assist the group’s efforts, Mid-Ohio Energy is again serving as a collection point for donated goods.

Individuals are invited to drop off items at the cooperative’s Kenton or Marion offices anytime during business hours. Goods will be collected up to the December 4 deadline.

Last year’s shipment sent a total of 400 boxes to troops in countries throughout the world, including Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Japan. Due to pandemic-related cancellations, the group has lost opportunities to collect greeting cards from the public. As a result, the group is seeking help in collecting greetings, Mid-Ohio Energy members can help! Blue Star Mothers is a nonprofit group of mothers, grandmothers, and guardians with children who are veterans or serving in the military, guard, or reserves. They focus on supporting U.S. troops, veterans, and the families of fallen heroes.
