At Mid-Ohio Energy, we work hard to keep your lights on around the clock. However, we realize that some outages can’t be avoided. Severe weather, a nearby vehicle accident, or excessive demand on the regional electric grid could leave you without power for hours or even days.
Our goal is to limit the number of service interruptions and restore power quickly and safely when outages cannot be prevented.
We recommend that you have a plan in place to keep yourself and your loved ones safe in case of an extended power outage. Refer to this page and Ready.gov for helpful tips.
It's worthwhile to note that having a plan is especially critical for those who depend on medical equipment that requires electricity. Talk to your doctor or health care provider about what you may be able to do to keep it running during a power outage, and have alternate plans for refrigerating medicines or using power-dependent medical devices. If you're unable to ensure an alternate plan at your home, it's advisable to identify alternate locations that can acommodate your medical and/or power needs.
During extended outages, Mid-Ohio Energy will use various channels to keep you informed. Keep up with the latest updates via your phone or mobile device, where you have the options to:
