- If there’s a fireplace in your home, does it
have glass doors and a fresh air inlet?
- Do you check your furnace filters monthly
to clean or replace them?
- Is the heating equipment in your home serviced
annually?
- Do family members take brief showers instead
of baths?
- Is the clothes washer and dishwasher used
only when full?
- Is hot water used sparingly when you shave
or do dishes?
- Are hot water pipes insulated?
- Is your hot water located near the source of
greatest use?
- Are extra refrigerators and freezers disconnected
when not in use?
- Do you keep your clothes dryer’s lint filter
and vent system clean?
- When you use the oven, do you try to cook
more than one item at a time?

smaller ones whenever possible?
- Do you turn off lights when not in use?
- Do you turn off televisions, stereos, radios
and CD players when no one is watching or
listening?
- Do you unplug your TV when you are going
to be as away for a long time, if you have a
remote control or instant-on feature?
- Have you replaced incandescent light bulbs
with compact fluorescent bulbs?
- Do you maintain electrical tools in top operating
condition? (They should be clean and properly lubricated)
- Do you buy power tools with the lowest
horsepower adequate for the work you want
to do?

soldering devices and battery chargers when
not in use?
